I found this interesting interview to Greg Kroah-Hartman He explains how easy is nowadays to develop drivers for Linux and the increase of the participation of vendors to provide such specifications to develop more and better drivers.
I remember the time when the installation of a simple sound card was an adventure. Things had changed a lot since those times and beyond any prediction. Unfortunately there are still people that maintain the old topic that Linux do not support enough devices and that it’s hard to configure and that it is useful only as a server. It’s totally wrong.
